“The Druid tries not to stride out too fast, he stands to lean on his tall stick from time to time because he knows that if he looks back he will see that she, the Artist, as is her habit, will have stopped, paused, to pick up some treasure or other. Perhaps it is a particularly multi-hued leaf, some mint green lichen fallen from an oak, a feather with a metallic blue sheen. Her first conker of the year he knows she will give to him, and he, as is his habit, will slip it into his jacket pocket where it will nestle all year.”
