Welcome

Here we are; the Artist and the Druid. A quirky couple together for more than 40 years, venturing into the world of blogging: the Artist, born beneath the Sussex Downs, a life-long ‘nature nerd’, enjoying dabbling with paint and pencils, never returning home without a pocket full of seedy or feathery treasures, always seeking that elusive Red Kite feather or fallen antler. The Druid, of Cornish ancestry, lover of all things ancient and magical, rarely seen out without his faithful hat and tall stick, loving the smell of a loco under steam, a good pint of ale and an Eagle Annual.

Both of us find ourselves unable to resist a pre-loved book shop, with the smell of printers ink and old paper or a walk along a windswept beach. We are drawn to vinyl record shops, ley lines, standing stones, and ancient forests with the odd birdwatching trip thrown in.

As new retirees we are hoping to expand, through walking, painting, photography and writing, our existing, rather pagan style, country life here in the Sussex South Downs, and occasionally across the county border, following nature and the seasons via footpaths, tea rooms and good pubs.

We are so glad that you have found us and hope that you will enjoy reading this notebook style blog as you journey with us in our wanderings through, and our ponderings about, the beautiful nature of the English southern counties.

Thanks for coming along.
